Glycerol, also known as glycerin, is an organic compound with the chemical formula C3H8O3. It is a colorless and odorless transparent viscous liquid that can absorb moisture from the air, as well as hydrogen sulfide, hydrogen cyanide and sulfur dioxide. It is miscible with water, alcohols, amines and phenols in any proportion, and insoluble in benzene, chloroform, carbon tetrachloride, carbon disulfide, petroleum ether and oils. Mainly used as organic chemical raw materials, can also be used as analytical reagents and lubricating laxatives.

Industrial use
1, used for the manufacture of nitroglycerin, alkyd resin and epoxy resin.
2. In medicine, it is used to make various preparations, solvents, hygroscopic agents, antifreeze and sweeteners, as well as external ointments or suppositories.
3, used in the coating industry to produce various alkyd resin, polyester resin, glycidyl ether and epoxy resin.

5, used in the food industry as sweetener, tobacco agent hygroscopic agent and solvent.
