Natural lutein is yellow-orange powder with extremely strong coloring power. It is mainly used in poultry and aquaculture industries for coloring poultry skin, egg yolks, and shanks. Because animals cannot synthesize lutein themselves, they can only absorb lutein from feed and the colors deposited in their bodies:
