Various uses of carboxymethylcellulose

1.Food grade

CMC is widely used in the food industry to thicken, stabilize, emulsify, suspend, retain water, enhance toughness, expand, preserve freshness, resist acid and improve taste.

· Used in ice cream, it can prevent the growth of ice crystals, increase the expansion rate, resist melting, give shape, and improve the taste; it has good formability in biscuits and pancakes, and the cake surface is smooth and not easy to break; .

· In bread and pastries, CMC can control the viscosity of the paste and enhance the moisture retention and storage stability of bread and pastry products.

2.Detergent grade

CMC is a surfactant that can be used as an anti-fouling redeposition agent;

CMC has good thickening, dispersing, emulsifying and other functions after being dissolved in water;

CMC has a high and uniform substitution degree in detergents and good transparency. It has good dispersion in water and good re-adsorption resistance.

3.Painting grade

CMC can be used as an anti-settling agent, emulsifier, dispersant, leveling agent, and adhesive for coatings. It can make the solids of the coating evenly distributed in the solvent, so that the coating will not delaminate for a long time.

4.Oil drilling grade

CMC is mainly used in drilling fluids, cementing fluids and fracturing fluids in crude oil production, mainly as a viscosity increaser and fluid loss agent.

CMC is used as a thickening agent to increase the viscosity of drilling fluid, thereby improving the suspension ability of drilling fluid;

CMC products are used as fluid loss control agents, which can control water loss well. After adding CMC, the drilling fluid can form a good-quality mud cake on the well wall. The mud cake is thin and tough with a low permeability coefficient, which can effectively protect the well wall and prevent the penetration and loss of water in the drilling fluid;

CMC products are used in cementing fluids to reduce filtration loss and prevent fluids from entering gaps and fractures. They can also control the viscosity of fluids and suspend heavy objects.
